Week seven

Good evening and welcome to this, the seventh edition of Electronic Ears, starting with this week’s cover version:

1. ‘Route 66‘ (Beatmasters Mix) by Depeche Mode.

2. ‘15 Storey Halo‘ by ABC.

3. ‘Electricity‘ by Pet Shop Boys.

4. ‘Future Boy‘ by Catherine Wheel.

5. ‘Games Without Frontiers‘ by Peter Gabriel. YouTube video, I’m afraid; not on Spotify.

6. ‘Cat People (Putting Out Fire)‘ by David Bowie.

7. ‘Piano B (Instrumental)‘ by Phildel. YouTube again, sorry.

8. ‘(The Angels Keep Turning) The Wheels of the Universe‘ by OMD.

9. ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine‘ by Taken By Trees.

10. ‘In My Room‘ by Yazoo.

11. ‘Dreams of Leaving‘ by The Human League.

12. ‘He’s Simple, He’s Dumb, He’s the Pilot‘ by Grandaddy.

13. ‘I Wear Your Ring‘ by Cocteau Twins.

14. ‘Linoleum‘ by Tweaker.

15. ‘French Fuck’ by X*S Club. Not on Spotify or YouTube. Go figure.

16. ‘Love Is A Stranger‘ by Eurythmics.

17. ‘Wüste‘ by Einstürzende Neubauten. Simply beautiful.

18. ‘Radioaktivität‘ by Kraftwerk . I played the German version from ‘Der Katalog‘ but the link is to the English version on Spotify.

19. ‘Sensoria‘ (12″ mix) by Cabaret Voltaire.

20. ‘Tightrope‘ by Laurie Anderson.

21. ‘Peter Gunn‘ by Art of Noise featuring Duane Eddy. The link is not to the version I played but the only one on Spotify. The (superior) version that I played is here.

22. ‘Snowfall’ by Ingrid Chavez and David Sylvian. I can’t find this anywhere, I’m afraid.

That’s it for another week and I suspect most right-thinking folk were watching the Olympics, anyway 🙂

Spotify playlist available here.

See you next week, I hope. F x
